Monica is originally from Robstown, Texas; a small town just west of Corpus Christi, Texas. She graduated from Robstown High School, where she was a band drum major, at the top 10% of her class. She attended college at The University of Texas at Austin and Texas A & M University at Corpus Christi. She graduated Magna Cum Laude in Corpus Christi earning a Bachelor’s of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies with an emphasis in Mathematics in 2003. Monica taught math to 6th grade students at Calallen Middle School in Corpus Christi until 2008 when she moved to the Austin area. She continued her work as a math teacher at Farley Middle School in Hutto in 2008 when the school's doors were first opened until 2015.
After earning a Master’s degree in School Counseling in 2015 she started her dream job in the school and town she had grown to love. She still serves in this capacity for the community of Hutto. After an internship she added Private Counseling to her service record in 2017.
Monica’s private practice is broad-based. However, the focus includes working with adults and adolescents. Her approach is cognitive behaviorally centered. Common issues Monica frequently works with include: anxiety, anger management, trauma recovery, self-esteem and healthy decision-making.
Personal Interests:
Monica loves to spend time with her family. Together, they enjoy everything from small excursions exploring our great state of Texas to relaxing at home with a movie or in the yard. When Monica is not with her family, you can find her treasure hunting with friends at various thrift stores in the Austin area.

Monica has been a Licensed Professional Counselor since 2017. She currently has a private practice located in Hutto. Monica works with adults and adolescents on a variety of different issues.
